About your Guide
All Metro Tours’ employees are licensed New York City tour guides. Depending on the size of your group, we will determine how many guides we need to ensure all students leave Metro Tours having learned something new!

We conduct a planning meeting with educators prior to creating your personalized tour, so we know what your priorities are. Then, we bring your lesson plans to life!

All Metro Tours’ employees are licensed New York City tour guides, which means they’ve passed an extensive test given by the State of New York — it’s as fun as it sounds! But what it really means is that there is no one better in New York City to tell the stories, history, and fun facts of this great city. Metro Tours is a family-owned company, so we take our education responsibilities seriously.

This sounds like something we’d like to do! How much lead time do I need to give Metro Tours?

If you would like to take a private version of our public tour, we only need 48 hours notice. If you would like a custom education tour, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible. We take our role in educating your students seriously, so we typically ask for at least one week’s notice, so we can work with you to create the perfect tour.
I am a teacher looking to bring 30 grade school aged children to NYC. Can you handle that?

We can definitely handle that! Our experience is that grade school students typically enjoy our NYC tour & scavenger hunt. Contact us directly and we can align our tours with your curriculum!
What ages does an educational tour accomodate?

What if the weather is bad?

We at Metro Tours love what we do, and for that reason, we don’t want you to miss a thing! Our tours run year-round and (mostly) rain or shine. If the weather becomes too inclement, we will alert you via phone/email/text within two hours of the starting time. If a tour is canceled due to difficult weather conditions, we will issue you a full refund.
